From a tiny Center City studio to a 3-bedroom Grays Ferry home
Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various neighborhoods. Is one person's loft another person’s townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $900/month.
↑ Powelton (Studio, 1 bath)—This cute, recently renovated apartment in the gated Drexel Court building is a cozy 550 square feet, and looks like it gets a lot of light. There’s not much in terms of amenities, but it’s a quick walk to Drexel or across the Schuylkill to the art museum.
↑ Chinatown (1 bedroom, 2 baths)—It’s every couple’s dream: An apartment with one bedroom and two separate bathrooms. The unit is definitely tight and there’s no dishwasher or in-unit laundry, but the location puts you right in the heart of Chinatown at 10th and Cherry Streets.
↑ Mt. Airy (1 bedroom, 1 bath)—This 1-bedroom is located in the pet-friendly Green Manor complex, which has been recently renovated. Every unit comes with laundry, and there’s a fitness center. It’s also a short walk to the Upsal SEPTA station and not far from the Wissahickon.
↑ Grays Ferry (3 beds, 1 bath)—This rowhome is renting for $900 a month in Grays Ferry, one of the many Philly neighborhoods on the move. The listing doesn’t offer much detail (is there a fridge anywhere?), but it is the biggest apartment on this list for this price.
↑ Washington Square West (Studio, 1 bath)—The tiniest unit on this list is a shockingly small 200 square feet. But again, location: It’s a stone’s throw away from all of the neighborhood’s boutique shops and restaurants. There’s also laundry in the building, and all utilities are included in that $895/month rent.
